Tesla extends Powershare home backup to new Model 3 and Model Y, but only with a Powerwall 3
Tesla now lists Powershare Home Backup for Model 3 and Model Y ordered in the U.S. and Puerto Rico on or after Oct. 1, 2026. The car must be paired with a Powerwall 3 and a Wall Connector or Universal Wall Connector, owners must contact Tesla support to activate it, and grid export is not available for these models.
