LAZ Parking and EverCharge announced a joint venture on Oct. 20, 2026, to bring electric-vehicle charging to apartment and condominium properties. EverCharge is a wholly owned subsidiary of indiGOtech, which uses the trade name GO. The venture's first offering is "LAZ Multifamily EV Charging Powered by EverCharge SmartPower," which the companies say is now available across LAZ's nationwide footprint. In the joint announcement, LAZ says the venture expands its charging network to 25,000 ports across North America.
"Our joint venture with GO expands our charging network to 25,000 ports across North America, and we're just getting started," said Alan Lazowski, LAZ's chairman and CEO. The release also includes comments from John Lin, EverCharge's CEO, and Will Graylin, GO's chairman. The companies describe the venture as a foundation for a broader relationship between LAZ and GO.
What each partner brings
The deal pairs a large parking operator with a company focused on charging at apartments and condos, which the release also calls multi-unit dwellings. These are the figures each company reports for itself:
| Company | Figure | Company-reported value |
|---|---|---|
| LAZ Parking | Parking spaces operated | About 2.1 million |
| LAZ Parking | Locations | 5,700 |
| LAZ Parking | Cities | 639 |
| EverCharge | Installed charging ports | More than 10,000 |
| EverCharge | Multi-unit residential sites | More than 1,000 |
| EverCharge | Registered drivers | More than 50,000 |
The 25,000-port total is LAZ's own count of its network after the venture. It is a count of ports, not stations or sites.
The technology: load management on existing power
EverCharge's main selling point to building owners is SmartPower, its patented load-management system. Residents of apartments and condos rely on shared electrical and parking infrastructure, where limited electrical capacity and utility upgrade costs can make large-scale charging difficult. SmartPower lets chargers share a building's available power, allocating capacity across the vehicles plugged in. The release says this allows "up to 5X more ports" to be used with the same source power, so more residents can charge without a major electrical upgrade. EverCharge's homepage uses a larger figure, saying SmartPower lets customers "install up to 10X more chargers on limited existing infrastructure." Both are "up to" figures from the company.
The release also names EverCharge's EVO3 Level 2 chargers and says they carry a 55-degree Celsius temperature rating, which EverCharge says no competitor matches. EverCharge's website lists Level 2 products (EV02 and EV03) and DC fast-charging hardware, and names fleets, workplaces, multifamily properties and vehicle manufacturers as the markets it serves. The company describes itself there as a vertically integrated maker of both charging hardware and software, offering turnkey service or hardware alone. The multifamily offering in this venture is built on SmartPower.
Beyond apartments: fleets, ride-hail and delivery
The partners say they will start with apartment and condo customers and then explore charging and battery-swap infrastructure for commercial fleets, ride-hail and delivery services. That work is at the exploration stage. GO describes its wider plans as an ecosystem of charging infrastructure, its SmartWheels vehicle technology and a fleet and mobility service called GO Loop.
How this fits LAZ's recent charging moves
On Dec. 17, 2025, LAZ announced a strategic investment in Epic Charging, an EV charging software provider based in Menlo Park, Calif., expanding an existing partnership between the two. That deal set a goal of deploying 50,000 Level 2 charging stations across LAZ's U.S. and Canadian properties, including hotels, commercial and mixed-use buildings, surface lots, airports and municipal parking. LAZ placed it under its "Charge Where You Park" strategy, and Epic said it would use the investment to accelerate development of its Charge OptimAIzer energy-management system. The Epic goal is counted in stations and the EverCharge total in ports, so the two figures are not directly comparable.
What It Means for Drivers
Renters and condo owners get this only if their own building signs up. The product is sold to property owners and associations, so if your garage or lot is run by LAZ and has no charging yet, the people to ask are your property manager or condo board. Your building's decision is what makes it available to you.
The chargers in this offering are Level 2, so it is slower charging where the car is parked at home, not a fast charge on a road trip. Before you rely on it, ask building management how charging access and billing work for residents.
Ride-hail and delivery drivers hoping for battery-swap or depot charging from these companies should treat that as a possibility, not a service. As of Oct. 20, 2026, the partners have said only that they will explore it.
