Electrify America has opened a 24-charger DC fast-charging station at the Sand Lake Corners South shopping center on South John Young Parkway in Orlando, a site Electrek reported on October 20, 2026 is the company's biggest charging station yet. Each charger delivers up to 350 kW, and all 24 use CCS plugs. The shopping center sits near Interstate 4, Orlando International Airport, Walt Disney World and Universal Studios.
The federal Alternative Fuels Data Center (AFDC) station locator lists the site as station ID 469855, "Sand Lake Corners South (Orlando, FL)," at 8111-8481 S John Young Pkwy, Orlando, FL 32819. The listing shows the station as open and available to the public with no access restrictions, operated on the Electrify America network, with 24 DC fast ports, J1772COMBO (CCS1) connectors and access 24 hours daily. It lists 833-632-2778 as the station phone number. AFDC gives an open date of September 19, 2026, which is 31 days before Electrek's report, and the record was last confirmed on October 20, 2026.
Where it fits in Electrify America's Florida network
Electrek reported that Electrify America operates more than 350 chargers at over 60 stations in Florida. The Orlando site accounts for 24 of those chargers at a single shopping-center location.
Florida has the second-largest electric vehicle population in the country. The DOE's AFDC registration data puts Florida at approximately 450,400 light-duty electric vehicles registered through 2025, behind California's approximately 1,843,100, out of about 5,689,100 nationwide. AFDC rounds those counts to the nearest 100 vehicles. Electrek pointed to the site's access to I-4, the airport and the parks in explaining the location.
More Orlando sites: one planned, one NACS pilot
Electrify America plans a second, smaller Orlando station with 10 chargers at 10226 Curry Ford Road. Electrek reported it is expected "in the coming months," with no specific opening date announced. That site is planned and not yet open.
Separately, Electrify America is piloting NACS (SAE J3400) connectors at selected stations, including a different location at the Florida Mall in Orlando. The pilot is limited to those selected sites; it is not a network-wide change, and the new Sand Lake Corners South station is CCS-only.
What It Means for Drivers
- Finding it: AFDC places the station at 28.44708, -81.42584, within the Sand Lake Corners South shopping center on the 8111-8481 block of S John Young Pkwy. Drivers can enter those coordinates directly into a navigation app.
- Who can plug in: Every cable at Sand Lake Corners South is CCS1, so vehicles with a CCS1 charge port can connect directly.
- Where NACS cables are: Drivers looking for an Electrify America NACS cable in Orlando should look at the Florida Mall pilot location rather than this site. Electrek said availability of NACS-equipped stations can be checked in the Electrify America app.
- Timing around travel: Round-the-clock access means the site is available for late-night arrivals at Orlando International Airport and for early departures toward the parks or I-4. While the car charges, the shopping center has food and errand options.
- Charging speed: 350 kW is the most each charger can deliver. It is a ceiling, not a guaranteed rate for every car.
- Price: Look up the station in the Electrify America app to see the rate that applies to your account at the time you charge.
- Curry Ford Road: The 10-charger site there is planned, not open, and has no announced opening date, so do not route to it yet.
- Checking the listing: Search station ID 469855 on the AFDC locator to see its current status, connector details and most recent confirmation date, or call the station phone number listed there with questions about a specific charger.
